Those are super tight and look really good. The one on BaT looks really bad. I can deal with a little wideness in the gap if it is equal, but not the wide top and narrow at bottom.

Jeff
That's how most of them were off, tighter at the bottom, wider at the top. You can cruise through the sold 80's and 81's on bat and just look at rear spoilers...you'll find more examples of poorly fitting spoilers than you ever gave a thought to. The thing that kills me is that some of the are really nice restos, yet the spoiler, being as MAJOR of a visual component of the body that it is, was completely passed over for correct fit during the resto process.

Oh, and Jeff? Sorry for putting that "spoiler" bug in your head. Now every time you see one of these cars, the first thing you're going to look at is rear spoiler fitment...just ask my wife, she's quicker to point them out than I am now! 🤣

This weekend I am going to rebuild my tail lights with the new lenses and gaskets. Also, I brought the front side marker lights home to clean up the back side bracket. The big one is the rear metal bumper and impact honeycomb. Trying to do this little stuff so I don't end up with too much add on costs. I know I am over, just because... LOL The wife knows we are over and how much, so far she is good with it. Hell, I will go sweep floors or something if I have to, at this point.

Color me done...there will be no more talk of spoilers or wives! 😂

The tail lights will give you MUCH gratification with those new lenses, installed up against the black. They will really pop!

Don't forget about those tail light perimeter seals too.

Yeah, ordering those today, because I did forget and wanted to see what kind of shape mine are in. I also have to order the gaskets and backing plates for the fender vents When he was taking the car apart, one side had a gasket and no backing plate, the other had a backing plate and no gasket... Weird. Passenger fender also never had a bolt thru it to the firewall... Last year of the 2nd gen, they were slapping this stuff together.

Thank you! The way I looked at it, when the cars were originally designed, they were molded in clay. Everything lined up. That was how they were "supposed" to look. But assembly reality had a different idea of how things would "actually" look. I wanted that original clay-molded look, so I took my time and got it to line up as well as I could. Oh, and if the spoiler didn't line up, either would the decal that runs across the back...and I was going to have none of that.

Here are a few more shots so you can how I got it dialed in.

When it's lined up, it really adds to the car. But when the alignment it off, I think it really takes away from the look...but then again, I'm very picky.

Hopefully your guy did the same with your spoiler. I would think he would, given the extra effort put into that magnificent paint he laid out it it!
Pure perfection!

Stopped by the shop yesterday to drop off the cleaned up metal rear bumper to find they were prepping the glass. They installed the aftermarket defroster. They are finishing the install today. The fenders were going into the paint booth yesterday afternoon,

Left for Vacation Friday pulling the camper to Hill City SD. Only update is that the front and rear glass are in, door seals on, trunk seals on, trunk lid and rear deck on, fenders painted and getting sanded. All of the small pieces were getting done Thursday and /or Friday.

I dropped off the side markers (after I cleaned then up along with the fender vent seals and brackets. Also the new upper grille should be there Tuesday.
