Certainly moving along. I found a few hours here and there over the last month and the rebuilt rear is finally in its home. I need to post that milestone pic so I know where I am. Next is subframe for me.

Good things and Bad Things

GOOD THINGS:
So I got the rear end housing, rear bumper and both leaf springs back from painter......still waiting for spring brackets, backing plates, rear drums and axles from him.....hopefully will get them this week sometime.

BAD THINGS:
Had the fuel tank checked and it has multiple rust pin holes in it and is JUNK and not worth fixing. Booooo. Now I need a new fuel tank. It's just money right?!?!?!

While I am waiting for the rest of the rearend stuff I can go ahead and get the rear end housing cleaned out, get all the new bearings, seals and 3.73 posi installed.

Still waiting!!!

So, I am STILL waiting for the rest of my rear end stuff from the painter to finish assembly. This blows. It sucks waiting on other people when you have aggressive motivation going on.
To put the motivation to good use, I finished removing and disassembling the passenger side door with my son. They are ready to get the door skins stripped off and then send them to the painter to be blasted and painted. Now I need to order door skins.

The rest of my energy this weekend went towards starting to make a brick patio sitting area for my wife. Happy wife, happy life, right!?!?!?! LOL

Hey Ghostrider78z, if you don't mind me asking are you going to have your entire car blasted, if so who are you bringing your car too? I live up in the Monterey County Area and I see that you're down in Santa Maria. I was just wondering. Can't really find anyone in this area that does sandblasting on cars, specifically.

Yes I will have the car sandblasted once it is a shell, after all the metal work is done. The guy I use does mostly commercial work but does cars also. I dont know his business name, just his personal name and number. He does exceptional work so far as you can tell by all the parts he has blasted and painted so far for me. I will direct message you his name and number.

The 1978 Z28 did not come with a 3.08. The 4 spd came with 3.73 and the Auto came with 3.42. The 3.08 and 2.41 came with the non Z28 350.

Yes, I know it came with a factory 3.73. But someone had previously swapped a 3.08 in for what reason, I do not know. It still had the factory 4spd in it. And the 327 engine was also blown up when I bought the car, so I was told. But the 327 was not factory either.
