Agreed...same here. He went out of his way to find misc clips and stuff that I needed to wrap up my build and a side marker light. Does not take Paypal, but honest guy so no issues sending check/cash/money order. Fast processing and shipping!!

RE: FatherandSon ad in Swap Meet Section

Make sure you get plenty of pics and ask lots of questions before you buy from this member. Be sure to get extreme close-ups of the parts. I've found that his descriptions on the condition of his parts were way off base.

I thought I did enough homework with him before I purchased a 70-72 deluxe dash bezel last year. We spoke on the phone and he sent me pics. Very nice guy to boot. However, the bezel he sent was one he tried to restore and failed. It had been painted, the overlay was 75% falling off and had a hole in it under the gauge lip, several mounting studs in the back were cracked/broken, and a fastener hole was cracked all the way through in two places. None of the pics showed the damage, especially the spray-on fabric adhesive he used. That was a $275.00 mistake. On the plus side, the overlay was clean and the color very nice.

To be fair, he offered to work things out. I was interested in the black deluxe interior door panels he had and we were going to work out a deal. He sent me a bunch of links to some video he took of the panels. "Like new" is how he described them on his website. "Fair" is how I would describe them. I was very disappointed and told him I wasn't interested and broke off communication at that point.

I know when it comes to parts, we have different expectations and it's hard to get the full story with pics, especially if they are dark or taken strategically to hide flaws. But if you tried to restore a non-mechanical part, you should know every inch of it and disclose any issues to the buyer. That didn't happen in my case.

Frankly, I didn't think he would appear on the website again, but I just saw his ad today. I did not provide any feedback at the time because I was pissed and didn't want to start trouble. And I was a new member. I won't make that mistake again. So this is my attempt to correct what I should have done.

Again, nice guy but be careful.

Thanks,
Billy

Thanks,

If I am not mistaken this is the guy (FatherandSon) that bought the 73 Z28 without a title and dumped a lot of cash in it including a paint job over the course of a year or less. The original owner came looking for their car and he had to turn it over to them. He's liquidating whatever he had left or could get off the car in time. So he's not actually an active member anymore...just comes on to sell what he has left.

If I am wrong on this someone correct me, but I think this is the guy.

I think it would be whatever he had left. The original owner came and got it and complained, or sued, that they switched out the original seats IIRC.
