Great project. You are at the same stage as I am. I have a 70rs about to go to the blaster then the sheet metal relacement starts. I will be watching yours to help me stay motivated on mine. LOL!!
Thanks for posting, can't wait to see it after blasting

here are some pictures, if you look through my album don't blame me for the writing on the car. That was a friend of mine messing around.

I would have NEVER thought there was a vapor canister type thing in my 1972!! does anyone want it? I'm not putting it back in as far as I know.

Well media blasting this weekend was a total FAIL!

mind you this is my first time getting it done, so I had no idea what to expect. And I told the person who I planned on getting it done that I had never done it before.

Talked to him Fri (expecting to drop it off sat.) He asked if I had a Rotisserie. Which I didn't. We talked about it and said we would work around that. He said Sat was no good and he would call me Sat to arrange for Sunday.

SO friday night me and a friend wet to home depot just before closing and were up until 1:30 am making some big supports for the body and loading everything into the truck/trailer.

He never called sat. I called him and left him a message about 5:30 Sat.
He didn't call sunday morning. I called him 4 times from 10 am until 1 pm.

We unloaded the truck and trailer (which I had to borrow for the weekend, and only could have for the weekend)

I returned truck/trailer. On the way home the guy called, didn't say "HI" or anything, just said "What happened to you this weekend?"

I was speechless. I found out he had just gotten home and got my phone number off a note in the TRASH to call me back. after an exchange of words, we hung up.

All in all I ended up with the car on big stands (4 feet off the ground) in my driveway. I ordered a pressure blaster and some media. now i'm going to to it myself. I have no way of taking it anywhere again for 3 weeks as I don't have a truck/trailer of my own, so this is the best option.

I hope it doesn't snow in the next couple weeks.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to having the blaster. just with the time of year and whatnot I didn't want to try and do it myself.

I have no problem with tedious work and taking lots of time to do things right. but I have to do most of it outside and it could snow anyday! haha.

oh well, I have a 80 gal 2 stage 18.8 cfm compressor already so it will keep up with just abotu anything I'll need. I just had to buy the pressure blaster and the media (crushed glass) It will be cheaper in the long run. just more work.

I'll post pics later this week, I don't have the camera right now.

Does anything have to be bypassed to remove this?
