I am getting my car ready to run finally, after getting the engine completely rebuilt...

my rally wheels are black, and are not looking as great as I would like them to. There are a few very small rust spots where the paint chipped off.

My dad told me to strip them down and repaint them with semi-gloss black (they were already black, to match my black car)

For some reason i'm just not so sure I want to do this. I am going to be getting new wheels for it within a year or two.

Has anyone painted their wheels before? Does it come out ok, and stay on? (Summer driving, not in the winter of course)

I just thought that the best way to go was powdercoating. Please tell me what you think, thanks!

btw i'm looking for z28 rally wheels, the 5-spoke ones, so if you have any and you live in IL or Wisconsin let me know please :bowtie:

If you want painted wheels to last, have them bead blasted bare and then have them sprayed with a 2k paint by a body shop or a friend that paints. Spray can paint will work okay but it will not hold up like a more durable coating

If I were going to paint wheel, I would have them powder coated. Around here (Ohio) to media blast and power coat it is $75/wheel. Do it right to do it once.
