I have the VHX in my 71 Firebird, it is about $800 less. I am not sure what is the major difference other than the RTX looks almost factory, it may have more options for "extras". I do know that the VHX has extra options over a OEM gauge cluster. I like it very much.

The HDX/RTX series have the color LCD screens that can display a number of things, customizable backlighting, etc.

I will add this too. The only functional difference I see between the RTX and the HtX is the HTX has 160 mph limit and the RTX has 150mph. I doubt you’ll see 160, but, you never know.
