I have American Racing 5 spoke with polished lips. Brake pads are Hawk HP, not the cleanest in the world. I've been spraying a liberal amount of quick detailer and wiping it off. It leaves a clean and shining wheel but quick detailer is getting expensive and I have a lot of really dirty micro fiber towels.

What do you guys use?

Ceramic pads are pretty much dustless...at least that is my experience with them. I've used them for over 20 years with no discernable difference in normal day-to-day driving. Had them on GMC pickup, hotrod 62 Chevy Biscayne, Toyota pickup, Toyota sedan, 2 different Camaros, and Buick Encore. They are a little more expensive than traditional pads, but wear has always been excellent. Now---if you need them for high spirited driving, you may want to consider metallic pads, but wear on other components (discs) may be more pronounced.

Just tap water on stock wheels.
Not stock wheels.

Wasn't impressed with ceramics, maybe I had the wrong brand.

I just use water on mine but my car gets wiped off every time I drive it. Damp and dry rag for the entire car then wipe the wheels and tires. I have AR TTIIs as well.

Just cold water in a bucket? Moisten, wipe, and dry?
Yup, I never use a hose on mine. Water in a bucket and a damp and dry micro fiber cloth. Been doing it like this forever, I also spray wax the front of the car and the lowers often to keep stuff from sticking. Keeping up with it makes the job easier, I can wipe everything down in about 15 minutes, maybe 30 with the spray wax added.

Same here, TTII polished lip and HP+ pads in 6P calipers.

I use the same dry micro fibre cloth, just dust them down, once in a while, that’s it.

But mine where the fully polished options and I painted the centres with Duplicolour rim paint, I did not want the TTII with the grey rough coated centers just for that reason, tough to clean.

. No sanding or scotch padding required, just tapped the lip and a couple of coats of paint.
