If you want to feel extremely hard shifts try driving a Camaro with T350 with a reverse manual valve body

What's your point? If you know a bit about automatics, you know that he can achieve that in a moment by disconnecting the vacuum modulator ... You get full line pressure just as fixed line pressure when running a RMVB with a transbrake.

Yet you can run a RMVB and still use the vacuum modulator and have normal shifts.... so what are you exactly saying?

a th350 can hit hard enough to make a 75 hp 4 banger bark the 12 slicks.....lol
a simple street performance kit is wonderful for MOST automatics. Sometimes they will be a little aggressive EVEN at lower rpm's. So long as the shift is not "harsh" ALL the time... things are probably fine.
The bark has more to do with the shift programming in the tranny than is does the power being made.
vs
th400.... going to take some power to make the 1-2 bark as it is hard to get THAT much line pressure on the 400.
