Hello, I have been really busy with my 71 build, amoung other things.... As like most of us, I find myself coming to this forum for information. So, I decided to go ahead and join!
Anyhow, I'll just give the short version of my build. I attended the season opener for Optima Search, in Vegas last year, 2017, to see what type of car I needed to build to be competitive. Since I've always wanted a second gen camaro, it was decided. Luckly, a very nice and clean 71 came up for sale, in a town not to far from me. Brought it home and got busy. The suspension needed to my main focus because it's going to driven hard. After looking at all my options, I called up Art Morrison and ordered their IRS rear. Since I wanted to keep my rear seat, they went the extra mile and redesigned the sub-frame to fit. The stock seat frame needed to be modifed to fit, but it's there! I am going with their front suspension, but they have a new style being tested, so I'm waiting to hear back. The rear setup was allot of work to install, but I believe it will be worth it! Engine and trans to get the car up and running is an Ls1 and t56. After the mock-up I plan to build the engine to get me in the 500Hp range. The trans has allready had it fair amount of upgrades. The interior plan is to keep it somewhat stock with a few changes. The ouside has a few changes but it will be mostly stock looking as well. Being and old body and paint guy, it will really help out on the buget! Wheel choice is Forgeline. The color choices for the paint and interior are getting close, but its still not final. I have a few pictures of the build, but I am more a builder the photographer.
Well, that was the short version, hope I didnt bore anyone.....
Also, I am not to much into posting stuff, so if this in the wrong place, I apologize.
