You are not kidding. LOL

Jeff
Wild story, but shortly after seeing that Olds 98, my brain went back about 50 years for this story...

Best I recall I was 15 years old. I was taking a typing class in high school, first (and only year) learning some basic typing. Teacher was a female, probably 30 something years old.

She saw this dude in class slouching way down in his chair trying to type. I mean he was laid back. lol She said to him in front of the whole class "Do you think you're in an 88 or something?" We all looked at each other and not a single one of us in the class knew wth she was talking about. lol Generation gap I guess.

She was referring to him kicking back in his chair, like he was driving an Olds 88 (not a 98 but an 88) 😆 She finally had to explain to all of us what she was talking about, because we had no idea wth an 88 was.

Anyway, it's cool that you're gonna get the 98 rolling again. Steady as she goes! 🌊 ;)

Went by the shop today. All parts have been painted or were in the process of being painted. Rear spoiler was on. Front urethane bumper was on. Damn thing was looking fast just sitting there in black. Looks like I will have this thing back next week. Assembly should be finished by Monday/Tuesday. Then the exhaust goes on. Just going to have the mufflers clamped on to begin with. My wife is hearing impaired and wears hearing aids. So I want to see how it is for her in the car both with and without the T-tops on.

I will have the tail light housings cleaned up and reflector area repainted, new lenses along with left & right filler panel. Also had to get the new fuel door, the hinge had rusted through on one area.

I am calling my insurance guy before I go pick it up. His office is about 400 yards from the body shop and the insurance coverage number is gonna be bumped.

I feel like I did when I went on my 16th birthday and took both the written and driving test for my license in the morning THEN got to take the family car out that evening with a buddy of mine who was 6 days older and hadn't got his license yet. LOL

JUST TOO DAMN GIDDY!

Jeff

PS. The price went up a little more than what I expected... but she is beautiful and the guy working on it... is just as excited as I am.

We are getting EVER closer. They were doing some buffing and cleanup on the outside and asked for a little help aligning the headliner while i was there. They are going to install and charge my AC for free (some extra to make up for the glass debacle). It will be next week, but that is cool. I will be able to finish breaking the engine in!

Will grab some pics today!
