Those are trunk drop off plastic plugs you are referring to. These sit in the well underneath the rear seat bottomThose are for the rear trunk drop-offs, behind the back tires. On early 1970’s there were 4,two on each side. Then around June or so they went to two. They are a turquoise color green-blue and have a orange rubber ring gasket.
I found my orig pics on my norwood 05b and they had these so wanted to go back in kind. Just a weird design so wanted to know why they used them instead of reg plugs. If you don’t seal them then water will get in if it rains. The factory used the holes to drain out the liquid dips the bodies went through then they were sealed. I don’t recall seeing those in my 70 when I sealed the floor and replaced the carpet.
I sealed mine with seam sealer, works great.I’m clear on the installation of the floor plugs but these two have retaining clips. Are they designed to work as floor drains and thus not be sealed with caulking?

Mine is an 05b norwood car. Mine had the wierd tab style from the factory. Maybe they changed them during the production run or at LA?Hmmm. My rear seat floor round plugs are the same as the ones in the trunk (early 70 cars only). Just a stamped metal plug that you seal in place with the 3M Fast-n-Firm or simialr sealent. Basically, a round version of the oval floor plugs. Maybe they changed them through the year.
