My z bar bushing kit arrived so I wanted to get my z bar mount finished so the car would have an operational clutch. I was really nervous about my exhaust being in the way. I had a bracket a friend traded me but that one wouldn't even bolt on my bell housing like it was supposed to. I used it to make the new one.

Well, luckily the z bar fits. There's probably a quarter of inch between the z bar and the exhaust manifold. The clutch rod is nice and straight now and is way better than before. Now I just have to make a bracket to hook the clutch return spring to and this portion should be done other than maybe adjusting it. The last pic is just showing accessories going back on. Not huge progress just more money getting thrown in it.

I didn't get much time to work on the car this weekend. I did catch the local town car show yesterday and was surprised to see 4 70-73 Camaros there. 2 gold with black striped Z/28s, 1 RS, and one standard. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I did get the z bar bracket bolted back on, removed my spoiler and painted it, replaced the u joint in the 4 speed drive shaft, and cleaned some rust on my trunk filler panel and put some POR-15 on it. Sometime this week I'd like to get some stripes laid out on the deck lid and spoiler. I would like to get it sprayed so it can cure for a bit before I try to sand it into the weathered look.

Should I go white or gray stripes? My friend says white would be more era correct over black.

In between house projects and work I was able to get the rear spoiler painted and I started the weathering process. I think it looks better already not in bare gel coat. Although the spoiler does need a lot of body work to hide the mold injection lows or what ever they are. That will have to happen later on. Perfection is not a situation currently for this paint job. Haha

I have been getting some small stuff done when I can. I went ahead and cleaned up the grill halves, flush mounted my RS emblem, and painted the front faces of the grill. I got the carpet back in and put the front seats back in. Little by little I guess. Haha

It's been hard to make progress on the old girl lately. I'm on my 3rd week of 12's, the washer and drier crapped out, and it's been raining every other day. I decided to start a diet. Since I'm at work and they make me take 30 minute breaks, I work on camaro parts on my lunch break. It sure makes a fat kid hungry but I am making some progress at least.

I've wire wheeled a lot of bolts and primered and painted them, as well as my new battery tray. I have some pieces left for the front end yet to do.

I finally got the carpet and front seats put back in. Now I am working on completing the interior color change. My sail panels were all but gone. I found some in a car in a junk yard but the ends needed some repair. I repaired them, prepped them and sprayed them with interior paint/dye. My rear panels needed some work so I'm repairing them too. These 4 panels are bringing $350-$600 for nice used oem pieces. These are going to have to work for now.

I'm going to try and repair the door panels and use them for now too. Eventually I'll get all new interior for it. For now it'll be nicer than it was and be able to be driven for a while.

I like what I found here, a gearhead with a crowded yet well stocked work area. A lot of quality in your project.

The single low profile rear spoiler looks great which is why I got rid of my three piece and got the same one. On the rear-right will be a 2017 "RS" emblem, black inlay.

How did you attach the "RS" emblem in the grill. I like it and would like to do the same. Might get the red inlay. It looks like a modern style and size. What year?
