10 bolt housing, welded tubes, moser spool,28 spline moser axles,richmond 4.56 gearset, c-clip eliminators, thousands of street miles and MANY 1.5x 60 ft's.

Kurt Urban used to run super street in a nitrous powered 6 cyl 2nd gen and I believe he was well in the 9's on a 8.5 big 10.

with moser axles, spool & C-Clip Elim I used to go 1.48 60' on my 70 camaro.

studded mains
4.10 gears
girdle cover
1350 forged yoke
disc brakes

1.42 sixty foots 3500lb car.

Back halfed the car and went to a 9"
1.32 60's!

that was Daves car that Kurt was driving. that car has just been repainted and a twin turbo V6 is being tweeked on the dyno right now. Look for it at a traffic light near you soon.

just thought Id add that if you start making alot of steam and can hook it up then the tubes themselves will start to twist. I dont know at exactly what point it starts to happen but then its time to upgrade to chrome moly tubes. that Camaro was doing 1.2 second 60 foot times.

I've got a question, what are you guys talkin about "welding the tubes"? Are you talkin about welding a brace between the axle tubes and the center?

Like Martin says, where the tubes go into the center section. The stock plug welds have very little shear area, and can be low quality welds - ours were full of porosity. See this

article my brother wrote in the archives.

The sixth image shows the porosity. Look at the bottom right side of the photo.
