Jeff and I exchanged emails back in the fall, and he sent me some additional pictures of the restoration to his old yellow car. I still can't believe he sold that car. Oh well. I believe he was a power train engineering at GM back in the early eighties. That's how he knew about the number on the valve cover.

Well, it's time to prune this thread down a little guys. The info in this thread is valuable, (not to mention I own a 02C built Silver 77Z), therefore I would like to archive this thread to one of our archive forums. You tell me how far back you want me to prune. I can archive everything older than say 60, 90, 100, days. The information WILL NOT BE DELETED, just archived, which you can get to as well (look at the bottom of the forum main page and you will see the archive section). I'm thinking that anything older than 120 days would be a good start. Thanks - Shane

THanks Adam. I hope to have the front lowered by the time of the next show.

Whew! Long Read! I can't wait to see the collected info Rich. I had one in high school (87). It was repainted, and I was a dumb kid, so I never checked facts, or even knew how to then. But I distinctly remember "Z28" on the cowl tag. I thought all Camaros had that (got my high school ass yelled at by a guy witha 69 ).Here was mine: 78 hood and stripe colors, just as how I got it. But it has the original Z equipment air cleaner under the hood. Engine was warmed over, as it was very fast. Auto. I was at Carlisle 2005, but on Sunday, so many cars had left. But I saw these two: (they started it right after this, lovely). Is/Was this Jeff's?? I've always had a soft spot for these cars, and I am going to look at one tomorrow. I am very excitied!

Is the stock camshaft on the '77-'81 LM-1 engines the same as the one used on the '67 SS 350? I believe that the '67 was 390 lift intake and 410 exhaust.Am I WAY out to lunch? Cheers. Laurence P

It looks like I'll be picking a brown 77 Z-28 up Saturday. It's rough but I have time to make it nice. quote: Originally posted by BonzoHansen: That's all I took, sorry. I wish I knew I was buying one so soon, I would have taken lots more.

Can somebody please explain to me how the post count goes from 631 to 639, without a single new post being added????? I keep getting e-mail notices of a new post, go to this thread, and the last thread is the same one Adam posted over a week ago.

Yeah, there is some kind of index problem. I emailed Shane about it. If you notice the posts on p42-43, they are dated before the last ones on this page. And I have a growing list of Z28 questions to ask….
