Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I also own a 1977 Z/28. I am the 3rd owner of this car and was wondering how I could post some photos of it.

Okay, thanks Dan.

I posted some here. Looks to be the same as one of the cars that you have, Lucky me! I will try and get some better ones of it when it is not so sunny out. I hope they work too.

Skidoo175,

The car looks very nice. It appears from the pictures to be mostly stock except for headers. Are there other modifications? What's the mileage?

Well, it has about 92,000 original miles on it. 350 w/4-speed. It has been a great cruising car in the summer where I live in Ontario right on Lake Huron. As for aftermarket things that are on it, the previous owner had done the following:

-Hurst Shifter
-Crane Camshaft (.447 lift int/exh)
-TRW VL37 Lifters
-Metal cam sprocket to replace nylon one
-Ceramic coated blackjack headers

Other than that the whole car is original. I do have all of the original parts (exh. manifolds, shifter, pollution control) to revert back to stock if I want to but I enjoy it with a little bit of extra get up and go the way it is. Has never see winter but it wa painted about 15 years ago. The gentleman that completed the work, a local guy that only does older cars, hand painted every decal on it, from hood, to pinstriping to Z/28 logos. It is really beautiful work. As I said, I will try and get some better photos for everyone! I do also have the build sheets from GM Vintage Division that they have send me, if anyone would like to know the options of it.

Mike

Skidoo175,

A question regarding the cam, I have been thinking of installing a similar lift cam in my stock '77 LM1 350, and was wondering if it is at all noticable, in both idle, and performance.

Adam,

You can notice it a little on idle. It does give it a small little lump, nothing to bad but it is noticable. The big thing is it really wakes up at around the 3000 rpm mark all the way up to 5500-6000 rpm. If you are looking at something that is streetable, I think it may be what you are looking for.

Thanks for the information Mike. I'm most likely going with the Comp cams dual energy cam .447intake .462exhaust. I've also heard that the dual pattern cams work well with giving the exhaust a little more lift. I'll let you know how I make out.

I recently bought one on E-bay that had been sitting in the Clifornia desert for a long time. Doing a rolling resto on it now. It's all there with very little rust. Got it running awhile back but tearing it down now. Seems to have every option on it except power windows. Had a new 77 back in the day and have always been partial to them. Never liked plastic bumpers.

This is for Dan77 and WayneMustang. I e-mailed Dan but I used to cruise the Big Boy back in the 70's in New Albany in a 77 Camaro and a 69 GTO Judge.

Good to hear from you Viking. I received your email. How about posting some pics of your 77 you are restoring? Who's black 80 Z is that on your web page? Looks very clean.
