My 77 Zed is a Canadian sold car.As we know there were about 5000, 4 Speed Z28 produced for the 77 model year. Can anyone come up with an educated guess how many 4 speed Zed's came to Canada? Thanks! Laurie Potter |

According to my paperwork from GM of Canada, There were 1,251 Z28's sold in Canada for 1977. Canadian Z's were not broken down by 4 speed and automatic on my paperwork. If you presume that the same percentage(about 35%) of Canadian Z's produced were 4 speeds as the US cars were, then you could estimate that about 400 Canadian Z's were 4 speeds. This is only an estimate. Mine is one of those estimated 400 . Dan |

Dan, do you have pics of the black car? I love the silver one by the way. I think that would be a second choice for me. |

Z169 your welcome. Z169, I would like to see pictures of your car! Omaha, I dont have pics of Wayne's black car , but I do have pics of a 25,000 mile original owner car that is black on black 4 speed. I also have pics of Waynes white car. |

I would love to see the ones of the black car. Is that the one I saw on the opening page here? What is a car like that realistically worth now? It seems the major auctions bring crazy money for cars. |

I dont know if the black car on the opening page is the same one, but it looks just like it. I will email you pics tomorrow. |

I have a thing for black cars. My father ordered one in 77 and had it until I was 4 or 5. I still remember him banging the gears in that car. I also remember my sister and I rubbing our hair on the headliner to build static and make our hair stand up. Here are a few pics I tried to take from when the car was new. The quality of these are bad but you'll get the idea. The actual pics are pretty good but are starting to discolor from age. I wish I knew where the car was now. I know he sold it to an Air Force guy in Omaha who transfered to Texas I believe. I can make out the license plate in one picture but there is no way I know of to trace a cars history with an old plate. Does anyone own this car? It was bought new in Omaha. It was pretty basic from what I understand. Here's the pic links. I apologize for the quality. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/notstock71/77Ztaillight.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/notstock71/77ZLR.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/notstock71/77Zfront.jpg [This message has been edited by omahafirefighter (edited April 16, 2005).] |
