No, that's going to be on your "build sheet". Cowl tags show basically the body color, interior style (ie; bucket seats) and color, assembly week, and a few other minor items. There should be a cowl tag "decoding" section on the second generation website.

Okay, finally figured out how to post pictures on this site. Here goes a try.
Jeff

This is my fully restored 77 Z28. Factory A/C, power windows, locks, brakes, steering. Restored with 70,000 miles on it and not many since!

Jeff, that's an incredibly aweswome car. It is the 77 version of Johnnymo's 79 Z28 featured in the SGCOG calander in October. Both are equally nice. Yellow really looks good on that car. Glad you figured out how to post.

Ditto - beautiful car, Jeff. The yellow really looks good on your '77.

You have an awsome car Jeff! I have seen it at the camaro superfest the last 2 years. I will have my silver 77 Z there this year. My best friend just bought a white 77 Z, and he will have his there also. We flew out to San Francisco This past weekend to buy it, and drove it back to Indiana, 2556 miles! Jeff, what other car shows do you take your 77 to? Dan

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I would like to go to GM Carlisle, Super Chevy Indy, and probably the Camaro Super(Long)Fest in Ann Arbor. We also made reservations for the Worldwide Camaro Show in Virginia Beach. Going to do the show then DC with the kids...Hope to meet some more of the people from this site and some more 77 Z28 guys inparticular. Carlisle was a really fun time last year and Super Chevy Indy is the granddaddy of the Super Chevy shows.

This isn't factual, just what I've heard. I recall people telling me that the 77 Z's were supposed to look like the 78's, but they didn't get everything tooled up in time. In fact, I think they were supposed to get it in 76. Maybe I'm way off here, but I'm sure I'll heat up the conversation some.

ReD Click on the photo icon on my profile and look at the two photos I have posted. They are both very low mileage original cars. You can clearly see the emblem placement on the silver car. Dan

ReD If you have the Grill For a 1977 or a 1978 Z/28 their is an embossed area built in to the grill for that emblem. The other grills don't have it, but will fit the car.

Thanks for the kind words Chuck! I'm in for Carlisle for sure. Will do a few other shows next year including some AACA shows...maybe just Hershey. Carlisle was a blast and I too encourage all to attend. The fun after the event was some of the best!

COPO: Is that your car I put in my profile?
If it is, I hope you didnt mind me using it. I posted it in response to a question from ReD about grill emblem placement. I will replace it with the pictures of my silver 77 . I used yours because it showed the grill emblem, and I knew it was a low miles car due to the original steelgards on it. Dan
