I guess I'm crazy, butI went ahead and ordered one of those setups from Gary. I needed to lower the rear of the car to make it look better with my new 17" wheels and figured I might as well have a complete Martz front and rear setup.I had better get back to working so I can pay for it...

That's cool!!! I really want some input on it. I was told that it's really based on a road racing setup, so I want to know what the install takes and how it really handles.

Yeah that is cool. Keep us posted with pics when you get it and the install. I've been waiting for a member to get this and let us know how it is.

I'll definately take a bunch of pictures of the install. At least now I'll be able to put my calipers on the back. The brackets were welded on the rearend when I got it and I couldn't put one of the bolts through on each side. That and the fact that I can raise or lower the car as I feel like it is what made me decide to go ahead and buy it.

I received the parts from Gary Martz the other day and just now had a chance to get them all out to see what they look like. Maybe one of these days I'll have time to start putting everything in. I'll have some new leaf springs and new SSM Lift Bars to get rid of once I get started. Here are a couple of pictures of the rear suspension components.

That looks trick. Please keep us posted on the install. Is it designed to bolt in or is some welding required?

Stickerman,I'm also interested in the setup. But,my biggest concern with the setup is how the exhaust is going to fit.The crossmember is right were the mufflers sit and also will the tail pipes clear the coilovers and the panhard bar. When you get it installed I will like to see some pics.

I was thinking the same thing about the exhaust. I'm sure no matter what it will be a major pain in the ass since nothing has gone right on putting this car together. The main part of the setup is bolted in place then has to be welded. The shock mount has to be welded in also. So that's not a simple bolt in modification. I will probably fab up the jigs shown in the installation photos on the Martz website and have the plans for them if anybody wants. I would probably even sell the ones I make when I'm done. I have no idea when I'll be able to start on installing everything, but hopefully it won't be too far off. I just know it will be nice to be able to lower the rear of the car since I just got some 17" Boyds all the way around and it's just too high in the rear.

This is good, you can raise and lower your car. Shorten axle and mini tub the rear. Looks like a sweet setup. I haven't worked my way to the rear suspension yet on mine. It looks like this may be the way to go. Keep the updates coming as I am also very interested in how this works.

Ok, I have finally had the chance to get this setup installed. I have some prep work to do on the parts, but other than that it shouldn't take much to get it installed. Two pitfalls I have found so far are that the brake lines and the fuel lines won't work in stock locations. You might be able to get by on the brake lines, but there isn't much clearance. I'm using 3/16 stainless lines and I might re-do them to route them around the front mount instead of squeezed between the top of the mount and the floorpan. I made up one of the jigs like on the Martz website, but I think I can get by with just clamping some 1/4" bar and measuring from the front mount to the bar to get the 25 1/2" spacing. I also made the straps with the 12" centers on my milling machine. That made it real simple to get the exact measurement. On the Martz website you will see they have some flat bar welded to some 3" muffler clamps then that is welded to the frame. I made the same setup, but I just bolted that in place of the rubber axle bumpers. Here are a few pictures of things in place to make sure it's all going to fit before painting and welding.

Stickerman, looks good so far. Are the shocks/springs that were sent going to give you the right height? It looks like the car is just sitting on the floor with jack stands. Is this working out pretty well for you? How many different weld points are there? Are you just going to use a MIG welder?

The ride height should be about right as they have it designed. With the rearend just clamped in place at the height specified I put on one wheel and it was about right. There are three positions on the lower shock mount for major changes though. The jackstands are working out fine. I got the car level within one degree or so. It took a little shimming on the front, but I think it should be fine. I'm going to have somebody bring over a commercial mig welder to weld everything up. The welds will probably go all around the edges of the two main pieces that mate with the body of the car.

Stickerman,Does it look like there will be enough room to have a full exhaust system?

I'm not sure yet, but I'll bet I'll have some kind of problem with it. All of the trick stuff really makes for lots of headaches in the end.I have a 2 1/2" exhaust setup sitting in a box in the garage that I can test fit once I get everything installed. More than likely I'll have to sell that and have something custom made up. Hopefully I can get the guy with the good welder over here by the weekend to weld up the suspension. Then I can see if the exhaust will fit.
