In Reg. to DAKDAWN,(others).I happened to be online the other night when someone started desicrating the site. I am not excatly sure of what it was excatly they were doing .BUT !!! it was not right! I would have intervined ,except that could have made matters worse,(limited knowledge of computers). TO my point: I'm 46 years old,my 73Z/28 run's mid 11.00's, has been entered in a few small car shows, and is street legal, driven when I desire. When I started drag raceing at the age of 17,finding information on what to do and how to do it was nonexistant! Except for the rich or born into the family racer, which I was neither. You would ask, nicely, what cam are you running? REP. Oh just one of those from the speed shop !Finding out how to port a set of heads HA! not until you had learned what a water jacket was the hard way!Learning how to set the pinion angle took me probley a dozen u joints and countless nights with a tow chain home. And most expensive leason of all, we thought high oil Prs. was the ticket after blowing 3 (327's)in one summer street raceing ,a man named Bill Reynolds, who ran sprint cars I guess felt sorry for me.I had taken my last dime to purchase a 350,12.5's,186,heads.He showed me how to use a mic.How to clean a block befor and after the machine shop, what the diffrence between pressure and volume was and what installing a cam proplerly was and the primeing and breakin prosedure was. That summer at lakeland my fullbodided 70 chvelle ran 12.70's and that motor lived for two more season's.EVERYTHING that I just said I went through is offered to anyone on this site for FREE, (unheard)of! Hell! some people will send you picture's of how to do it ! I know how sometime's the older member's feel, you just want to grab someone by the ass and say no !!not like that. The person that had no respect dosen't give a damm. about cars or dragraceing! They should be hung by their ball's for a few 12 second passes!Bann them and send them to crack for ass holes site!I could not imagin having something like this when I was young!!!Now that I have that off my chest I feel much better. Thanks to all I have learned a hell of alot I didn't know espically about my mid.year. This is by far the best site I have been to, and will continue to be associated with. I recommend it to all my fellow chevy lovers who want an honest and friendly opinion, with out the "mines bigger than yours" comments. I never have liked car bashing, someone who posts a question should be given the same respect as anyone else no matter what car.

I like all muscle cars, although I prefer chevy and ford, some dodges have their place too. Im glad that this site doesnt "go after" those guys that have an honest question.

You people are great, Keep it up.

Thanks
Steve

As a note- the issue of "desecration" of the site has been resolved at this point and the party in question is not likely to do that again.

You'd be amazed at the stuff that has to be done sometimes to maintain 'order' in a place like this- most of which happens when nobody's around to really witness it.

Preston and all others here...

I've been registered on this board for a number of years (4 to be exact), and I never cease to be amazed at the great collection of people here that make up a virtually bottomless source of information...I DO know how good we got it! The knowledge that is freely shared amongst the members could fill VOLUMES...and we all have MadMike to thank for bringing us all together.

THX to all who are here and make this place what it is...

I must say that this is the greatest sight on the net for me. With all the great people who are willing to give free advise and help out others and ask nothing in return it amazes me. When ever I get a negative response I usually just ignore it and move on because I know that most of the people here are posative and willing to help those who need it.

As much as I love my Camaros I freely admit to being auto illiterate!!! My stepfather was not into cars and I wasn't allowed to take auto shop classes in high school. I wish I had take some classes later in life but was hard to do w/ new wife and career. Now that I have a little time and money(not much) I try to lear as much as I can about my cars and this sight has been the largest single source of information on anywhere bar-none!!!
Not only do members talk cars but we talk any and everything here and you can ask for help on just about anything or any topic and someone on this sight can usually help you out. I know I have found some new friends here and enjoy meeting new people each time I sign in. So all I have to say is God Bless Mad Mike and all the people on this sight that make it my favorite sight on the web!!!

This is easily my most visited place on the net. I work in front of a computer all day and I bet I'm on here no less than a dozen times a day. There's so much stuff here, it's amazing. I love the variety of people. I can come on here and somebody who actually races cars down in australia or somewhere will help me with a problem with my peoject car. I added a post on the side somewhere once about ignition and how I didn't understand it that well and wanted to know more. The next morning I had an email: "you don't know me, but I'm from nastyz28.com and here's a great article on ignition........" Or how about the old article or hot rod I needed for info on my inline 6? A guy on here mailed it to me free of charge!!! I love this place!! It is amazing, and I try to give back when I can.
