Can't say much either way....I've ordered from the man, and recieved within the time he has said. On the other had, I've sent 5 email queries about parts in the last 2 years, and have NEVER gotten an answer back.
If it's a one man operation, he may just not have the time...especially since it seems that he parts out 2nd gens locally too. Seems in the swap meet section a coupla months ago, he mentioned having about 6 early 2nd gens in various states of repair...along with his inventory. So mebbe he's just busy?

Isn't he a one man show and takes care of several generations of camaro? Also isn't this a part time thing for him? Knowing that and never hearing about him ripping someone off. I would say things are gonna be pretty slow. Now 3 months and no call is no good, I agree. That isn't cool. He may need better organization. Sorry to hear about any problems. I know when i finally save up enough for a part i want it NOW! So, I can feel for anyone who has to wait. hell i don;t ven like mailorder. I want to want in to a store hand them money and get my stuff. I am a product of the ATM society. hahaha

Just my .02...

I have ordered several items from Jim at various times of the year and both from his site and by phone.

From what I understand he works this as a second career and is only open from 2 to 6 PM central time.

I have tried the e-mail thing and leaving messages with pretty much the same results so have just gone to calling him during his business hours and have been VERY, VERY satisfied when I have actually talked with him.

Everything has shipped when he told me it would and one item that was lost by the shhipper he replaced immediately without question. The man is top notch, 5 star in my book!!!

I don't know exactly what his monthly 800# phone bill runs but I have decided to always give Jim first shot at anything I need by just calling and calling and calling till I get to speak with him.

While he is no Summit or Jegs on phone availability the man knows and stands behind his stuff!

Just don't try and call before 2PM or after 6PM central...

Just wanted to through in my opinion. James is an excellent guy who doesn't even give a hint at being dis-honest. He has good stuff at an excellent price. Sure, sometimes he may be a little slow, but in the end he comes through. I like him and will continue to use him.

I've posted elsewhere about this but I saw this thread so I'll post here also.

Everyone keeps saying to be patient with James- I feel like I'm a patient guy. I ordered about $300 worth of parts from him back toward the end of September. This is obviously mid November- how patient do I have to be? I'm not talking about having trouble getting through to him to ask questions or something- I actually ponied up and placed the order. There have been no replies to numerous emails or phone calls- in fact the posts I made before were to try to get him to contact me. Still nothing.

I'm not trying to bash James- he has really stepped and provided some quality reproduction items that were long overdue. I don't think anyone here has accused him of being dishonest (as was hinted at above) either. But I would like for somebody to give me an idea of how much longer I should have to wait before I have a 'legitimate' gripe?

I didn't mean to imply that anyone thinks James is dis-honest, I was just making a statement. Yes, 6 weeks is a long time and I do think you have a legit complaint. I still like James though. I hope you get your parts soon.

I had ordered some parts from him and not received them, it had been about 8 weeks. I used the local number (long distance), which I've had great luck getting through on in the afternoon, to contact him. He shipped out a duplicate order (the other order had shipped), priority. I had my stuff in 3 days.

I'm pretty happy with that level of service.

Yes, getting in touch with James can be difficult. See the above mentioned hours, and you'll have better luck. I have ordered several things from him, including an entire suspension rebuild kit (minus rear springs)...I got exactly what I asked for, within the time he stated, and at a much better price than I would have gotten anywhere else. What's more, he's a 2nd gen guy and he knows our cars...you just know from talking to him that he knows exactly what you are talking about even when YOU aren't sure what you are talking about. I highly recommend him. For those of you who have ordered and not received your parts, call him during those business hours, or have one of these guys that live in Houston drive over there and give him a message...I bet you'll get your stuff.
