Does anyone know of a website for third gens that is anywhere near as good as this one? A friend of mine is giving me an '89 that I'm sure I will have questions about. Thanks.

3rdGen.org is the best 3rd gen site I've found, really good tech area and also a aftermarket vendor review that you should check out before you start ordering parts for your 3rd gen.

Thirdgen.org SUCKS. This board is much better, there is much more info, and the people are a lot more helpful. I'm a member of thirdgen.org and the last time I needed help with something with my 86 camaro I had to come to nastyz28 to get help. Thanks guys

In a sort-of 1/2-a$$ed defense of thirdgen.org- it does have good tech. info if you can get past the "kiddie crowd" with bad attitudes and what I call "assumption diagnosis methodology" -i.e. "your car doesn't start, well- it must be a blown head gasket as I have no other information or idea on what to say.."

Curious, where is this "Tech Area"? I've been on that site for a LONG time and have never seen anything other than 3 sections "Message board, Featured Rides, & Chat Room"

Please don't turn this into a "sell" of your site. Thirdgen.org's message board IS basically it's tech area- and there are a few FAQs here and there if you look around enough.

Third Gens site dosen't seem terribly
complicated as soon as you pull it up there's a tech central area. Then if you click on the message boards it pulls up about a dozen different tech boards. I'm not on any crusade for this site, I just used it alot recently when I was fixing a 3rd gen to sell.2nd Gen is great but don't think it will help much when you have questions about in tank fuel pump r&rs or torque arm bushing replacement, etc., etc.

You obviously aren't looking at the right page if you can't find the tech articles, technical data, vin decoder, rpo lists, etc.
It may not be as in depth as this site, but it's not bad. 3rd genners in general just don't seem to be quite the gearheads that 2nd genners are, and unfortunately they attract a fair amount of the 'ricer' crowd.

I'm sorry but no one here read what I was replying to.

I never said "thirdgen.org". I quoted "3rdgen.org" it's in my quoted msg.

And i'm not trying to sell my site. Someone asked for a website link. What is wrong with posting one you run?
