This year, this board will be sponsering an award at Camaro Superfest. The sponser fee is taken care of and MadMike is going to kick in a shirt or calander or both.
I will take it upon myself to be the go to guy on this. But I don't want to make decisions for the group. I will let you know what my thought are and open it up for discussion/ideas/votes whatever.

1. I have already checked and "2nd Generation Camaro Owners Group" will fit on the award.
Is that what we want to call it?
2. I would think the award would be for "Favorite 2nd Gen" at the show. Or do we include all cars at the show?
3. I don't think voting club members should be eligible for the award. If you want to be eligible then you can not vote.
4. You must be a club member to vote.
5. I plan to have voting forms available at my car at the show. Pickup and drop off ballots there. Or do we do something online which I will likely not have access to while at the show.
6. I purpose that each voting member list their 3 favorite 2nd gens in no particular order. Add up the votes and see who wins.
What do we do in case of a tie?
7. What does everyone/MadMike think about the winner having a spot in next years calendar?
Assuming myself/Gary/someone can get some good pics of the car.

My wife and I will be working the show as members of the Western Michigan Camaro Club so I will be on the grounds pretty much from start to finish each day

Other ideas, question, or anything I've forgotten???

COOL!!! WISH I COULD GO......(not to enter though)
I think award should go to best 2nd generation camaro, since this is a 2nd gen club,
Also, I like the idea that voting club members are not eligable to win...
Just my thought,

Post LOTS of pic's from this show PLEASE...

What defines a "voting club member" and WHY cant a member vote for his own car. As long as every member only getsONE ballot and thereis no stuffing the ballot box a member should be allowed tovote ONCE for ANY car they choose.....Chuck S/Seattle

If your going to put the winner in the calendar, which I think is a great idea, please make sure you get shots similar to the last page of this years calendar. A 3/4 feature, engine, interior, different angles, favorite features. Digital shots need to be as large as teh camera will do, conventional photos can be mailed and will be returned.

I will also make a special indication asto the award on the calendar. Shots of the actual award could be useful as well.

Great idea, Ray. (The 2GCOG is also "sponsoring" a 2nd gen class at the NEOCC Fall Classic this year. But it won't be the same thing...not a separate award or anything, so there won't be votes involved.)

I would say do the award at Super-Fest for 2nd gens only. That, after all, is what the 2gcog is all about! Don't make any guidelines...let the votes fall where they will. If someone wants to vote for their own car...oh well. Since I'm taking this year off from getting my car judged, I can help take responsibility for collecting and counting votes. I'll also withhold my personal vote until the end in case of a tie.

Voting could be a problem. How would you verify members? There's probably no feasible way. You could open voting to everybody that has a 2nd gen in attendance (but only if they know about it and ask for a ballot), have them write their car number on their ballot and we could at least verify that. But then that would exclude bonafide 2gcog members who show up without a car or with a Camaro from another generation. I'll have to think on that some more...

Need a ballot that can't easily be duplicated.

Don't do it online. Most of us that will be at the show will not have computer access that weekend.

I can also take care of the picture.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Gary, thanks for the offer to help.

Holding your vote in case of a tie is a great idea. You being a Mod on the board, I don't think anyone will have a problem with it.

If we want club members cars to be eligible to win, I think that's great. I will disqualify my car so no one can yell "rigged contest".

We really have no way to verify members there. Unless we print a members list to have along. But I am not to worried about ballot box stuffing LOL I was thinking the ballot would be simple with;
REAL NAME
SCREEN NAME
3 FAVORITE 2ND GENS
Is whether or not it can be duplicated an issue? One Ballot per screen name. Another idea is that voters must pick up their ballots from SpltBmpr71 (Gary) or myself. Then we would know how many were given out. I mean after all we are only talking 15-20 club members. If it was hundreds or thousands I'd be asking for more help
I would prefer voting to be kept to club members but will buy into whatever the group wants.

If we want to do winners pictures for the calendar, we will likely have to cut voting off before noon Sun. Then talk to the winner and get pics before the award ceremony. Because no one (including me) will want to do it after the show
Gary - again thanks for the offer to help with pics. I'm sure between you and I we can get at least one good one :0

Unless there is an objection we will make the award from;
"2nd Generation Camaro Owners Group"
For "Favorite 2nd Generation Camaro"

Other Ideas or opinions???

Ray I agree with what Gary has said and like you said theres only probally about 15 to 20 members going to be there . I will be there with my 99 Z and will help if you need any. Great Idea about the Calandar , I think your car should be included. There were some real nice 2nd Gens there last year so this should be great. Let me know if you need ant help

Hey Chuck thanks for the offer to help. I'm sure between you, Gary and myself we should be able to pull this thing off
I was going to exclude my car just because I don't want there to be ANY questions about fairness. Considering the quality of cars there the last couple of years there is slim chance I would have to worry about winning anyway LOL. I'm like Gary, I am considering not even having the 73 judged this year. I have to work the show 4 hours each day and I want the SS judged. The wife want me to enter the 73 also but I don't know if I have time for everything, and still have fun
