Hello, my name's Brian. My brother and I own a 1971 Camaro SS. We bought it years ago, and it's currently going through a second restoration. I study in Belfast, Northern Ireland, but live near Seattle, WA.

That would be! Between 16 and 20 hours with layovers, depending on the route. I only get home a few times a year, though.

Dumb question here, but how do I reply without using "reply with quote"?

Welcome to the Board Brian! I envy you to be studying in Ireland. My dream vacation is to someday travel to Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy and Spain!

I live in WA too, about 1.5 hours north of Seattle on Camano Island. Check out the NW section on the bottom of the main forum page.

Welcome Brian. Excuse my dumb question, but what do you study in Ireland? Irish lasses? That'd be my major.

I'm working on my PhD in mechanical engineering here at Queen's University Belfast. I'm part of the Internal Combustion Engines Research Group. Anyone into motocross, GP road racing motorcycles, or karts might recognize Prof. G.P. Blair from QUB. Personally, I study transient operation of single cylinder engines, mostly high performance 2-strokes. I just gave a paper at an SAE conference in Kyoto: SAE #2002-32-1782, if you're interested.

I also study nitromethane 2-strokes for my radio controlled model boats, on the side. How does 15 hp/cubic inch and 30,000+ rpm grab you? I have written a few technical articles for my buddy's web site for R/C boats: http://rcboat.com/past.htm

Welcome Brian,

I think it's about time you start sharing some of that knowledge.

Let see 454ci x 15 = 6,810hp how exactly can I do that?

Man if you can translate some of that research to auto motors you're going to be a rich man.

This is a fabulous site if you need to know anything about Camaro's (or learing how to BS).
