Hey guys! Ive got a 72 Camaro Ive had it for 8 months now. And I love it. My goal for the car is to eventually show the car locally. But the way I want to have the car isnt original. I want my own custom sound system in it. A crate engine and my own custom paint scheme. Im going to keep the baldwin stripes but the solor i want is like a drak saphire blue with pearl stripes and maybe 16 or 17" chrome rims. And I have a question do yall think that underbody neon white lights might look good with that? Im stil a long way from completion but thats my goal.

Welcome aboard!
Lots of info on this board. The word NEON and CAMARO are not allowed in the same sentence! Neon is a ricer thing! I am sure the other members will agree.

Welcome. Sounds like you have some great plans for your car. I am wanting to do mine up like a Baldwin Motion and think I still am but in purple. As far as neon its up to you but tastefully. I had thought about it too but am feeling a tad reserved about it and how the ricers have totally overloaded the market. It would be nice looking at a late night type car show. Be neat looking...dark blue with blue neon.. would draw the people over. Its all in what you want, thats all the fun making the car into yours.

Thanks for your input. It helps to have other people i can call on when i need help wiht my car. Yeah those neon lights were a cool idea and i think i am still going to do it because you dont see many classics with lights cuz most people think its for rice rockets. I had thought id put white neons because blues and reds are illegal here in FLorida. I looked at your cars Pic online and it looks pretty sweet. I really like that hood scoop my car doesnt have one yet and when I paint it i plan on having one. Did yours come with that when you bought it or did you put it on yourself? And do you know where i can get one? Thanks again for all your input. Jeremy H

The white with the blue would look awesome. The blue and red lights are illegal here in washington too but only if you drive with them on.

Thanks for the compliment. We got really lucky and the car came with the L88 hood (but he gave us the original hood too). My husband has been itching to put one on a camaro for years. If I remember right the last time I priced them it was $299 (thats fiberglass, impossible to find a metal one, but its nice and light) at www.up22.com . They got some awesome hoods at that site. I thought up the Baldwin Motion idea for stripes because I gotta repaint real soon, car came with real thin okay paint and badly done stripes.

I have thought of neon allso but i somday plan on running no hood big tunnel ram and such and thought about putting a couple red lights on the frame rails so there would be a red glow coming out from the bottem of the moter glowing out up onto all the chrome and polished aluminum

Its Hugger Orange with white stripes ive jacked up the rear about 3 inches from what it was its not alot but to mee it looks better. And when i paint i want to have it with an L88 Ive also got a picture of what i want it to look like ill post that as well.

**drool**

Just had to post that pic didn't ya . That is so very kewl. I have a pic of one in red and black, it looks so much like my car its scary. Why do only some of them have side pipes and some don't? I thought it was an all Baldwin Motion car thing, there I go assuming again.

If I do neon I will probably put it just underneath the rear of the scoop. I am going to to put the blue/purple lighted white faces guages in and blue lights under the dash by the feet that come on when the door is open.

Yeah, that's him. If I'm not mistaken, he had just signed the roof of that car.

JDBlazer... Thats pretty much what ive been brain storming about for the last 2 3 days itll look really cool when you get done with it. I think that I am going to do something like it. And Im not sure but i do think that all Baldwins came with side pipes. I wanted to get them when i got my pipes done but the guys said they couldnt do it with my traction bars that i have but thats cool Im sure they could have but didnt want to. I just got 2 1/2 inch pipes with 40 series flowmasters and an Xpipe it was a big improvment from 1 1/2 pipe straight and with glass packs on it i really did feel a big difference.

Side pipes were optional on Motion cars.
See: http://www.motionperformance.com/motion.html

The paint job was optional too.

If you want to see what joel normally looks click here

If I'm not careful he'll reply here and chew my a$$ off.
