I see some members have a pic of their cars in their profile. How is that done?
Not a link to a URL that has the pic, but the pic itself. I am no computer whiz, so explain in english please!

You have to go into the "edit profile section".

Then it is similar to posting a pic in a post.
Upload an image to a pic hosting site, and in the profile edit section add the image location in UBB code brackets in the signature box.
[ ]
with "img" and "/img" in the brackets at either end of the image location.

Then at the end of every post in a thread, where it asks if you want to include your signature, click the bubble for yes.

If you do this, be sure to size your image into a small one before you upload it to the hosting site. Otherwise a huge image will appear in each of your signatures.

I urge you to not do this, although I will agree it is cool to see everyone's cars. The problem is that the image takes up a lot of space and is distracting while reading posts. The worst part is that it takes the page a long time to load on screen, especially if every member was to post pics in their sigs.
Imagine if everyone did it. The guys with slow net connections would take forever to load the page if everyone added a pic to their sigs.
I am a member on other boards, and it is cool to see guys' cars, but the load time is significant. This site is much cleaner and easier to view without pics, and loads quickly.
I would suggest that you just post pics in the post on occasion, and not in your sig.

You put the picture in your PROFILE that way.
by providing a fully qualified url address to a valid picture. So when the profile page is displayed, the picture is loaded.

Your signature is totally different, but it's part of your profile.

Pictures aren't allowed in signatures. You can edit your reply afterwords to force an image to display under your signature. This is a no-no and will get your reply canned or your signature wiped out.

Thanks guys!

MadMike - I wasn't interested in putting a pic in my signiture, I know the problems that causes like what BC's71 said.I also know thats a board no-no, and I like this board and don't want to screw with it. I do want one in my profile though and will try that again.

I have had the same problem, and found out that if you use angelfire, they will not let you do this.

Where is a good place just to put the picture on a page so I can do this?
I already use angelfire for my site and don't want to change that.

I tried to do it and it won't work so i am presuming that my pic host won't allow the pic link.I also want to know where a free pic host is that allows the photo link.

Let me try this I added a address to a pic of the car in my profile. I went back to an old post yet I don't see that little camera in my header part of my post?

Ok it did appear but will not let me link to it. I guess becaue it's another forums space?

I give up.
