Below you will find a site that describes this whole virus. This is not your run of the mill little puppy but a big mean dog. Our Camaro club was infected with it and it came from one source. Funny how it just sat in his computer not harming it at all but sent itself out over his ISP server. That was about 3 month ago and we all got new copy of anti-virus then cleaned all our computer. It took out 4 of our club members computer but So far so good. To date nothing else has happened.

Somehow this virus has gotten oversea and into systems that have little or no protection at all. My father received an e-mail from Viet Nam 3 weeks ago stating they had a virus in there system. Just last week as he was boot up his e-mail Norton warned him about a virus. It came from Viet Nam and haven't heard from them sense. All I can think of is it got into their server and crashed the whole thing...........

TIME FOR A REFRESHER
To prevent anymore emails like this:

Why are you sending me these virus infected files. Two in the last two days. It may be that your machine is infected with a virus
that is using your outbox to propagate.

---
yes, and monkeys might fly out my ass.

My Norton 2002 program picks up this viris about once a month, must be in spam mail incoming. The program just quarantines the file, and nothing seems to be screwed up. Well worth the investment.

And I've seen QUITE a few emails coming thru with attachments that fit the profiles.

PEOPLE - DO NOT open these up, please reset your browsers and mail programs to NOT automatically download files.

This is one of the ways to help delete this virus. And I've seen that my name ended up on a few emails TO myself FROM myself.....

It also depends on the email client, I think. I know that MSN (or Hotmail) has a virus scan attached to it, and will scan every attachment you get, just to make sure that it is indeed clear. But, as mentioned before, even if you know the person, and talk to them every day, if they send you an attachment that you weren't expecting, don't open it. Worse case scenario, if it's something that you missed out on, just have it resent, instead of just opening everything and getting angry that the virus came from a bogus email.

Funny this came up. I was just e-mailing Mike about this. I recently got this virus and it was to hell and back. Had to completely re-format my hard drive and lost all my working data files.

That link is the link to Norton Anti-Virus. In this website will be a link that described all the appropriate "strings" that are associated with the Klez virus and what you can do to look out for them. This site also has a "fix it" download. Although depending on how far it has gotten in your system, it might or might not work.

Norton Anti-Virus has been out with a 2003 program and will automatically update your anti virus program, while on line. Like Rick Kennedy says,,,,it's a $50.00 investment, but well worth it. The Klez virus, which is actually a worm virus, attaches itself to your address book and so when you send out e-mail, it sends out the virus, thus multiplying it, via e-mail.

This program will automatically scan your incominng and outgoing e-mail and will not remove it, but will isolate that e-mail apart from the others.

The Norton Program will not work, if you already have the virus, but will prevent your computer from contracting it.

If you receive e-mail from someone you don't know, shoot it to your recycle bin and get rid of it, cause the minute you open it, your screwed.

Folks, this thing is STILL out there, and myself and others STILL get these sent to us.

PLEASE check your systems and run a 1/2-way decent anti-virus program, and keep it updated.

This is the ONLY way to stop this virus from popping up again.....

How long has this darn virus been around? Geez.
Here's a litle nugget of info. If you use hotmail, it has a virus scan built in, and won't let you d/l something infected.
