Right on man! Good job! I can't wait until I get to the motor install on Cindy.

    How the........

I have that same drop base air cleaner on my 355 and it wont poke through the hood, it's off too far to the pass side. Yours looks like it pokes all the way through. Is that a 15" hole in the hood? You can't get much bigger and have the scoop still cover it.

    Hole size

I don't know the size of the hole. I started at each edge of the cowl and oblonged the hole to the front and the rear. Only got 1/2 inch or so on passenger's and driver's sides. The entire top of the cleaner is in the hole. Nut is also very close to the cowl but I can move the hinges up a little. The hood lines are bad anyway.

I'm wondering if your BBC is centered in the engine bay differently than my SBC. Maybe I can try oblonging my hole also to the pass side. I dont think I have much room at all though until the scoop would no longer cover the hole in the hood.

I cut mine right up to the cowl and cut the support ridges out of the cowl. It tooke every bit of space I could get.

    Here and there...
Nice job. There is more room under those scoops than people think.

Out of curiousity, did you gut the scoop completely? I didn't see the door on the back & I noticed the solenoid mounts & those intermediate mounting stud bases were cut down flush. Is it just open in the back?

Yes it is open in the back. Had to remove everything and cut of the mounting posts to get enough room.

Maybe that's my issue. I'll take the scoop off and see if things will fit. I think my biggest problem is the wedged body bushings.
