    Are there differences in the Z28 rims for the second gen Camaros? I have one rim where the beauty ring appeared to show more if it's inside lip in comparison to the inside portion of the rim. The other three rims inside portion appears to hang over entire inside lip of beauty ring where it makes its bend toward outside lip of rim. You can clearly see the rim is either narrower or inside portion sticks out more in the second pick.

    You will be able to tell the rough year usage from the valve stem hole and the fit of the trim ring. Early wheels have oval valve stem holes. The early 1970 wheels measure 1" x 5/8", midway through the year the valve stem hole was enlarged to 1" x 13/16". On these wheels the inner portion of the wheel protrudes approximately 1/8" beyond the outside lip of the wheel so when the trim ring is mounted only the flat portion facing the outside of the wheel is visible.

    By contrast, the later wheels have round valve stem holes. The 1977 - 1978 valve stem holes are 7/8", while 1979 - 1981 are 1". On these, the inner portion of the wheel is set approximately 1/4" lower than the outer wheel lip so that when the trim ring is in place about 3/8" of the horizontal part of the trim ring is visible.

    Read the number on the different one around the valve stem hole...inside rim. Let us know what it is and we can tell you what year it is.

    It looks like you have two different style caps as well. The top pick looks like the cheaper Tawain repro style, and the second looks to be the second design GM 'non-raised' Bowtie cap.

    Some cap info here---> http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100653

    As stated in post #2, there were actually 4 styles of these wheels during the 70-81 year run.

    These parts came on the car when I bought it. Learning new stuff everyday as I take a closer look and see what's different.
