Concerning the right side aluminum valve cover black rubber grommet .

I ve noticed two types for sale .

One has a straight side on the top edge and the other the top edge is perfect round shape......like BBC valve cover grommet .

Anyone know which style was original to the 74 Z28 cover?

That's the one I've got on my valve cover.... With the straight side showing . I'm sure mine been replaced many times in 40 years . It's the one I recall in te 70's tho.

I was reading claims to the contrary on another site.....I sure I ve seen perfect round , no flat straight edged grommets on eBay as they described ....and I believed them not correct.

    Maybe they were LT1 items...?

The one on my Buddys car is flat across the top on both the breather and the PVC

This is a picture of my original 74 Z28 valve cover grommets that I took off a month ago. They were kind of hard after being on my covers for 40 years. Looks like they are straight. Let me know what you all think about them. They got painted by someone when I was getting my Z28 back on road back in 2001 or 2002. My Z28 was in Macon, GA and I was in Alaska during that time. I was not happy about them being painted along with my valve covers.

I looked up pics of my 74 Z28 which I owned in 1976 and it had the square grommet. The two 1974 Z28s that I have today both have the square grommets as well.
