    I have a 1970 Z28 Camaro,no indication on the cowl tag.
The prior owner assured me that it is a real 1970 Z28.
    Is that possible?

If its a Van Nuys built car, there wouldn't be a z28.10 (white Stripes) or z28.19 (black stripes) on the tag (after 1st week of April build). Only Norwood build cars got that on the TT. 1st week of April or before it would be just 28.10 or 28.19, again for Norwood cars only.

LA (AKA Van Nuys) built cars are harder to tell. Many of those had build sheets on top of the gas tank or under the seats sometimes. Look for that.

Post the tag and we can let you know more.

More info. What is the VIN? Motor pad numbers? Is the engine original? If so, there is a partial VIN by the oil filter on the block. Look up other 70 Z28 stuff here.

Does your gas pedal pivot from the floor?

Best thing to do is post a bunch of pics of the car. Members will be able to help you out better.
