Is the side roof drip moulding around side glass on Z21 style trim cars the same on vinyl top cars and non vinyl top cars?

On the 70-73 at least, there were two different drip rail moldings depending upon whether the car had a vinyl top or not. The molding for the vinyl top cars was slightly wider.

I don't know the exact years, but early years (70-72?) had stainless steel. Then, mid 70s had plastic, and the later second gens had aluminum gutters. They should all be interchangeable except that different ones fit cars with vinyl tops.

I went out to the shop and checked my 73 R/S LT Vinyl Top Camaro.
Looks like a satin aluminum, but I could easily bend outward the rear most edge and indeed appears to be PLASTIC !!

Speaking of VINYL TOPS, how many of you, knew the material used was more "Shiny/Glossy" starting in 1972 !!!!!!!!!

That figures. Looks like another thing I'll be doing to my 73 that's not technically correct since I'll be using the stainless steel trim. I can't bring myself to use the plastic ones.

Just like the Z28 decal on the rear spoiler. Can't do that either. I'll be using an NOS emblem the way GM should have done it on the 73s. It's not like there was a shortage of emblems. Cheap bastards.

my 71 Z28 w/vinyl roof had plastic mouldings on it . Ive commented on this before when ive seen the plastic vs metal subject on here . my car is a very low mileage ex- racecar . it was taken off the road in 1972 after having been driven for the summer of 71 only . it was original paint when I bought it 9 years ago . Ive since repainted it and installed new vinyl on the roof . its taken me 9 years to find the original moldings which I just found this summer . my moldings were cracked on the A-piller where there was a factory seam in the vinyl . the same on both sides .

My 1973 Type LT with vinyl roof had plastic mouldings.
I bought the car new and the first summer I cracked one.
