79 for me!
'79!!! I remember in back in High School in '78 reading one of those little 10 page magazines they'd pass around to the students to keep them up on current event type stuff. Well, they were funded by advertisers, and one issue had an ad for the new 1979 Camaro Berlinetta. i was 15 at the time, and I said "I'm gonna have one of those!" Well, I joined the Navy in 1981, and by '82 I figureed I could buy a new Camaro.... And I walked right by a new '82 Camaro because I didn't even recognize it.
So, a couple of years later, I bought a used '79 Berlinetta. And, like an idiot, in 1988 I traded it in on my truck (which I still have, by the way). So, last August I found another '79 and now it's got it's interior ripped out. All new interior in boxes in the garage, as well as the new crate motor I got this past Thurs. Just need suspension parts and exhaust and it'll be ready for paint...
In our city, which CAMAROS are alive from 1972 to 1978 and the majority of them are 75-77.... and we only can find some spares for 75-77, I would prefer 1977.
1974 Z28 in first place in either White or Gold with large Callout stripes on both.
1970/71 cars with Short Spoiler - Cortez Silver/Black stripes and Interior.
1977 Z28 Red 4-Speed.
1978 Z28 Yellow-Orange.
1980-81 With Cowl hood.
70 to 73.
my first was a 73. i have 2 of those and a 71. i'd say i like the 70-73's
well i own a 77... but im not gunna lie... i prefer a 70-73 or a 79-81z28
im kicking myself right now cuz i didnt buy a 1970 camaro, running, drivable... for $800... last year.
and i almost bought a beautiful brown 79 z28 with t-tops... for $5000 it was bone stock grandma driven... im tempted to try and find it...
but iv got my 77 and that does the job... in a couple years i will turn it into a full out drag car... blown big block.
70 and 79. I love the teardrop hoodscoop, front spoiler/flares, and the upgraded dash thats in the 79. I also love the decal scheme.
I really like the 70's corvette looking taillights, and it's badass front bumper along with the stripes of course. Also, the fact that it could be ordered with a chevy BB
My first love is '68 because I owned one as a teenager. I've seen so many great looking cars in here (NastyZ) that the 2nd gens are rapidly becoming my favs.
My fav 2nd gens are:
'77 Rally Sport (obviously)
Rare to see either of them in fully restored condition.
Thats odd those are my two favorite also.
1, 1977 Rally Sport or Z28
2. 1974 Z28 I love the sticker that is on the hood.
3. 1968 because I'm this close to buying one.
