I did a lot of searches and read through a ton of threads on here, and reviews online. Basically, I have it narrowed down to 2 compressors. I'm looking for opinions, pro's/con's on which of the 2 you think would be the better deal.

The biggest workload will be DA and media-blasting (with pressure vs gravity). With those 2 items, I am looking for it to function for approx 10 minutes before having to wait to refill the tank. Here is the info for the 2 compressors:

    Air Delivery SCFM @ 40PSI - 22.0
    Air Delivery SCFM @ 90PSI - 18.1
    Horsepower (HP) - 5.0
    Tank Capacity (Gallons) - 80.0
    Air Compressor Voltage - 230
    Amps (Amps) - 15

    COST: $820

    Air Delivery SCFM @ 40PSI - 13.8
    Air Delivery SCFM @ 90PSI - 11.3
    Horsepower (HP) - 3.0
    Tank Capacity (Gallons) - 60
    Air Compressor Voltage - 230
    Amps (Amps) - 22

    COST: $490

    Both are Ingersoll Rand.

    Any suggestions/information is greatly appreciated.

I have the first one. No issues other than some seriously wet air.

With the da and media blasting defiantly the top one. That is a good price, where did ya find it?

It's at Lowes. I showed them an add for the same model for $999. Turns out they do a price match + 10%. My 10% military discount stacks as well, and I have a tax-free ID number. With the price on these things, I'll take all the discounts I can get!

I have the smaller one. It struggles when sand blasting or running a rotary cut off tool.

I seldom run either of those thought so it works fine for me.

It works great with an impact wrench and my air socket wrench.

For the uses you stated, you will be much happier with the 5hp model.

The 1st model listed is the one you will be happier with. The second one will never keep up with a media blaster.

Ditto...there is no way you will get 10 mins out of the 60 gallon tank with media blasting.

For the record I can blast until I'm out of sand with my compressor.
