wiper motor

    what is the problem if i unplug my wiper motor switch but the wipers still stay on. when i turn ignition off they return to normal. is it the switch or the motor????

    I will say it it the motor, mine did this 100 years ago (well late 70's) I did not know better & ran a switch to ... I forgot where sorry. and ran it that way for years.
    Later on I took the switch out & found out it was not the switch, it is pretty much bullet proof and well made, very simple too. Finally got a new motor. The hard part was matching up the washer assembly afterwards,
    You can get the washer assembly now pretty easy too. I got my new wiper assy from Pep Boys in maybe 1982 ? it still is running today

    yup motor likes to get dirty and screw stuff up

    the other thing to check is make SURE your switch still has a good ground on the dash panel . when my wipers did that it was the ground
