Will the big cap HEI dizzy drop in?

    My 73 camaro with the engine in tge car? Or will it hit the firewall going in? Thx.

    It will drop in.

    If you have a factory air cleaner for a small distributor (points).... It will interfere with the big cap.

    Yup getting rid of the points, don't care about the air cleaner. Just wanted to make sure it would drop in without removing the engine. Thx. Gents....

    Just use an MSD distributor .It uses a Ford style trigger. same clearance as you stock distributor,

    You will need to get it 12 volts. Your car would have a resistor inline.

    I just revisited this thread to add that "pointless" point of resistance.

    Replace the wire which feeds the HEI.

    I was just going to bring it power to the power terminal in start and run. Was thinking about using the coil power wire. ?

    Can I use the coil positive wire to power the new dizzy?
