I was just reading about that the LSX 454 and it appears to be an awesome option for anyone wanting a high horsepower LS engine but I don't see anyone buying them. Why is that?

Cost probably. For me weight is another negative, it weighs more than 100 lbs. more than the aluminum blocks.

    .

I actually ordered one before they were even released, for a Pro-Charger project.
It kept getting delayed & delayed, so I stuck with a BBC, and my machinist sold it to a customer.
It would have been a huge weight break for me in my class, but I couldn't keep waiting not knowing when it was coming.

I agree, they are an awesome block.
They have been used for well over 2000 HP and worth every penny & every pound if you're going LS based.
They are at the track, but as said, probably not worth using for some street cruiser project???

Oh people are buying them, but I think with this group of people LS3s are plenty and cost effective.
