Put a big block under the hood and the old block in the trunk for added traction
Oh sure Mark, get him into a pigblock and what next tube doors?
There's no reason you couldn't rebuild your original motor. A good machinist could deck the block without removing the stamped numbers and you could also have the block converted to four bolt main caps if you wanted to. I don't think you need to unless you want to try for more than 500 horsepower or you plan to spin it more than 6000 rpm. Even at that there are some old tricks that will let the engine live at 600 horses without four bolt main caps like machining the caps flat and bracing them with half inch square stock and studs with an align hone to keep everything square. Again, not something you need to do, just what can be done.
I'm also local, so when Jerry gets mad and his butt fur is all knotted up you can also call me.
Already there. Candy-striped tube doors for the holiday season!
Blades we can both"help" him out and get him completely confused
But of course!!!
Its the natural progression of life right?
