Well guys I put a 3,000 stall in, I also got a new motor. Same internals and it made 440hp @5700rpm and 455tq at 4700rpm. Last time I went to the track I ran a 7.9 @88mph at that time it made 413hp @5750rpm and 450tq @4500rpm... any guesses to how much ET and MPH I'll gain? (Btw those numbers are at the crank!) thanks fellas!

I'm guessing 7.7 or so at 90 ish. Your'e probably knocking on the door of 3800 lbs loaded. Depends on if you can hook up. 3.42 gears are holding you back . A dedicated 1/8th car is going to have MUCH steeper gearing.

I've never weighed the car at all, curb weight they're 3650ish I have some stuff removed like the ac unit and ac rad, ac delete, Axel dump exhaust, headers and such, it's pretty basic with just the stuff I need to daily driver it, another reason I don't wanna swap gears to 4.11s or higher.

4.10's are a lot more streetable than your thinking. Makes a big difference. Putting it in context 4.10's are really more of a 1/4 mile gear than an 1/8 mile gear.

A dedicated 1/8th mile car will be happier with 4.88's ( or 5.13's ) , 31" slicks and a fast shifting powerglide. For combination use 4.10's or 4.30's on the street with 28 inch tires are good for anything but a daily driver.

I run about 2700-2900rpm at 60-65mph I do quite a bit of hwy driving so I wouldn't wanna run at 3500rpm for 20 min lol. But I've always heard you wanna be in high gear when crossing the line in the 1/8th. I have 3.42s with 28" tires, I'm thinkin if I got shorter tires like 26" I could get out of the hole a little faster... is that true?

I dont even think you could get into high gear with 3.42's in a 1/8th mile race. As long as you arent over revving it you're slowing yourself down by going to high gear with no real benefit. If you are going through the lights at 4000 RPM you arent anywhere close to peak HP or torque. Keep it in second.

Taller the tire the better . You want as "long" of a contact patch as possible. FWIW 3500 RPM with a 28 inch tire and 4.10's is 71 MPH.

    Is this a daily driver?

When I took it to the track I left it in drive and it shifted to 3rd basically right in the line maybe just before it. I adjusted the governor weights and springs and it shifts between 5800-6000rpm... so if I leave it in 2nd you think I would run a better et?
