What source sells the correct air cleaner decal for a 1970 Z28?

I don't like that decal. The fonts look too much like the repops out there. The NOS eBay one has much better printing. Even the position on the lid doesn't look right. Too high compared to what we have discussed here. The condition is almost too good, even for an 8K mile car. No fraying at all on the edges? One or two wipes with a towel usually starts the edges lifting, especially on 36 year old glue.

Another reference pic for the decal 'placement'. Not centered in the flat area on the lid, as Mike pointed out in post #12. This pic is from an un-restored Green '70 Z/28 formerly owned by a member here named Paul. I can't remember his screen name though...

Interesting ideas on placement. This thread is depressing me for one reason...I cannot find ANY pictures I ever took of my engine in the well when my car was young! I was going to look at the air cleaner lid, but alas, I cannot find one pic of it. Sigh.

Anyway, when you look at the decal, you realize it can never be parallel to the two major lines of the lid. I would think someone at GM specced the decal wrong in 1970.

Interesting car from photos. Deluxe door panels but standard seats. Wish Mecum would show the TT. Wonder why they don't.

From my limited view of the car, the paint appeared to be original. It had the the Van Nuys stripe scheme where both front and rear stripes stopped short of the moldings. Although the pictures look great in the lot preview, there were some spots on the paint that showed it's age. The spot I noticed particularly was on the passenger side leaded seam where the rear quarter meets the roof.

Without verifying date codes and part numbers, the engine compartment looked to have most of the correct components - NA9 equipped, 837 alternator, radiator, master cylinder, smog etc... A couple of things looked off in the engine compartment. The water pump looks like a replacement and I noticed the passenger side head had a plug in it instead of the TCS sending unit.

Stereo radio and two rear speakers aren't original. It has had some interior changes.
