I ordered from a few sources to compare. The highest quality and most authentic reproduction I found here:

    http://osborn-reproduction.com/

Sorry I don't have a pic handy. I agree with the comments above with respect to placement.

I ordered from Osborn in the past and can't remember if the mirror like one I currently have mounted came from them which is incorrect. I think it's best
to find one at a swap meet and see it in person.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I was hesitant about buying a NOS decal. It looks good but I’m so skeptical if it’s not in the original packaging and even then I’m skeptical.

From the picture representation, I vote for this being the most correct incorrect decal. Silver seems to be less shiny and no Printed in the USA.

Was "Printed in the USA" correct for 71?

Easy to laminate new adhesive, if we can find the correct decal.

If you have a picture....You can have any decal made pretty cheap these days. I had some custom Z 28 decals made for my flaps on the Air induction. If I remember it was like $ 10 plus shipping. High quality and still have not peeled or discolored.

I'm not sure. Most of the pictures I have of 1971 cars are not high res enough to tell.
Someone needs to post a confirmed original 1971 lid.

I can see where you're going with this. Supposedly NOS eBay decal for 1971 330HP LT-1 below:

The link below is to an 8,000 mile 1971 Z28. Here's a picture of the decal on that car, which looks incorrect to me:
