What is the best size rims for no prep racing without tubbing

    I think 15x8 rims with 4" backspace all around was the old school set up. I guess bigger wheels and shorter sidewalls are better on the track. It might be worth it to have separate track wheels and tires.

    ^^for a 7" rim. With a 8" I would go 4.5" BS

    A 15 x8-18x8 wheel with what ever size tire you prefer.

    On my 76, with a 15X10 and 4 7/8 back space running a 29.5x10.5R15 pro bracket radial or a P295/65R15 DR. Fenders rolled and for me my seat belt bumps have been hammered in, these will rub on the fender slightly if i hit a pretty hard bump...If i had my wish i would run a 5 1/8(ish) back space wheel.

    Spend money on DA shocks front and back to control your tires........
