I have been looking for a 1978 Z28 and I keep coming across Berlinetta 78's. What is a Berlinetta and how does it compare to the base model coupe and the Z28?

The Type LT (Luxury Touring) was replaced with the Berlinetta in '79. It's an upscale version of the Standard Coupe. It's like a Z28 without all that annoying horsepower.;)

    Hmmmmm.....

The Berlinetta (79-81) replaced the Type LT (73-78)..... Which happened to show up after the "SS" model (70-72) was retired.

I guess that makes it a Luxury Touring SS. :D

    Hey...... I can dream!

A lot of them had V6 engines but they still make great platforms for a V8 swap!
