I saw a pretty violent transmission explosion on the dyno when an N/A high STR converter was installed in a nitrous car. The torque multiplication was high enough to scatter some really expensive internals when the second stage came on. Call a real converter builder for a recommendation. Neal Chance, Pro Torque, PTC, come to mind. If its an off the shelf unit from a wholesaler, you can be sure it won't be optimal to your combo.

I've got a 406 with a 177 making 650hp went 10.94 @ 3950lb with 373 gears. the trans was a stock 350 that had been rebuilt 5 years ago, with a 3000 stall street converter. I don't know what was upgraded maybe the sprag and I asked for a shift kit. Then I bought a supposed high hp model and broke the sprag support. My advice would be find a good trans guy in your area and have one built. I had a local guy fix mine and he upgraded the high hp one I bought and got a better price.
