Tire wheel size 81 z28 street strip

    I'm using the calculators on wallaceracing.com and trying to predict what gearing I want. If I plug in your numbers it shows you either crossing at 6250rpm or 138mph with that set up. I'm obviously missing something...final drive ratio or something maybe?

    I shift @6250 my shift light goes on at around the 1000' mark.

    after reviewing some footage it looks more like 6500 than 6700.... The shift light is definitely on before the stripe....Now you got me wondering....

    Same exact set up as Mattie vegas1974z28

    15x8 w/ 4.5bs

    It's on a 15x8 wheel with 4.5" backspacing

    5.5" backspace on a 10" wheel will get the tire back up under the car better and will work if the rearend is the stock 2nd gen width.
