Tip to remove rear view button mount?

    Well on the plus side of ruining mine. The windshield was faded and not in that great of shape anway. Been a while since I had a screw up happen. So I guess I was due...

    I hit it with two very fast on.off blasts from the torch and it came right off with a little twist from a crescent wrench.

    I had to replace the one on my GTP a while back. Mirror came off and I found it hanging by the wires the next morning. Had some kind of OE glop holding it on, which stayed on the glass. Razor blade, good kit and some Acetone later it was back on. Not my first Rodeo...

    I have only taken the "puck" off a windshield once and did it as my "glass guy" told me to do it. Not my car BTW.

    He told me to take a big flat blade screwdriver and put it on the side of the "puck" and smack it (the screwdriver) "lightly" with a hammer. Popped right off on the second smack.

    Not responsible if this doesn't work for anyone else...
