Bring on Pro Mod...and Nitro Harleys too!
Did they really think switching to fuel injection would increase fan interest.......just another boring class.
Well currently it's a spec-Chevrolet class as you know...talk about boring.
God I remember the days of Sox & Martin and Dandy Dick Landy and then later the Professor, Reher & Morrison, Frank Iaconio...there was so much fan interest back then.
Long smoky burnouts, dry hops, rosin sweeping...it was such a show.
It looks like the NHRA (No Hot Rods Allowed) have killed another once proud class.
/\/\ Yes. Remember those as "the good old days". I work, on ocassion, for Dave Visner at Visner Engine Development (VED). The throttle bodies for ProStock are built there under contract for Holley. The main bodies are billet. I knew about the change for a long time, but could not tell anyone, as I can't about any other of their unreleased parts. Just for grins, check them on Farsebook.
I don't like the 'spec engine' racing in ProStock. I think that a cubic inch limit may be okay, but they should be allowed to use technology to their best ability.
Top Sportsman is basically a Pro Stock but much more fun to watch
What they should do...but they won't because they've got their head up their asses...is run an all-fuel show at night, plain and simple.
T/F, F/C, AA/FA, Pro Mod, and T/F Bike...all at night. Showcase the most awesome spectacle on earth, show the damn flames coming out of the pipes...in super slo-mo...you freaking idiots!
I was there that race weekend at OCIR !!
NHRA Top Sportsman
The end started back when they (nhra) made the teams go-to cavaliers, grand ams, neons, and escorts. Plus the lack of TV exposure is not helping. You only see about 5 minutes of pro stock and 25 minutes of what is going on in the force camp out of a 2-3 hour show.
I'm the opposite i liked the smaller cars like the Pro Stock Pinto
