TH400 without electric kickdown

    Guess it's a trip to the junk yard! I really like the engine compartment as clean as possible too.

    just pull it down to 2nd when you wont to pass or down shilf put your foot in it till you wont to shift out to hy

    Yup, and I'm pretty sure the switch is the same too. I got an air induction setup off a member here, and when it arrived I realized that the pedal bracket was exactly the same and the switch was IDENTICAL to the one for the TH400 kickdown on my truck.

    I would think you could actually do both with the one switch!

    Th400 has a 'protection' for overrevving in Lo. You can bypass this internally in the valve body by reshaping (grinding) one of the lands on a valve.

    Would a '79 have it being that they didn't start air induction hoods until 1980?

    You can also use a 67-72 Chevy truck kickdown setup if you're using a q-jet...that bracket/switch mounts on the two rear carb baseplate mounting bolts.
