Hey needing some help testing a 700r4 transmission's lock-up solenoid.
Does anyone know how to test the solenoid with the transmission not in the car, and does the pan need to be dropped? Thanks a lot.

Ground the trans case and apply power to the solenoid connector on the outside of the trans. You should hear the solenoid click.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and i'm not hearing a click. I'm thinking maybe I should drop the pan and test to be on the safe side. And that way I can replace the transmission filter as well.
