Wonderful, isn't it, when the 'standard brands of quality' have taken jobs away and get cheap labor from overseas. Hurst linkage = china. Raybestos wheel cylinders = china. Etc.......
But we, as consumers want low prices, so we pay for it by job losses and a lot of lost quality control.

Do not worry, soon all of those places will have housing prices through the roof and the workers will revolt, get unions , to get better wages to afford the high priced homes, then companys to save money will farm out the production to a third world country to sell it cheaper and then we will all have jobs again.

It's already started. "Made in Japan" used to be the sign of bargain wages. Then Mexico. Then China. I saw some parts the other day that said "Made in Bangladesh". It may not be next week or next year, but eventually, China will get tired of pouring money and supplies into their southern neighbor and there will be a regime change. When Chubby is gone, you may see parts made in "The Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea". (North Korea.)

Actually the opposite I think. Americans feel they are entitled to high wages, benefits, etc no matter what job or skill they hold. Stuff is made overseas because Americans want $25 an hour. If everything was made here, none of us could afford to buy it.

With that being said, Taiwan makes good stuff. Rather there then China.

Our way of life is why it has gone this way.credit cards, loans etc. living beyond our means
