Hey everyone, I'm planning to put subwoofer in the trunk of my 78 z28, there are large holes that lead into the cab but would be against the backseat, I not sure if it's necessary to weld them shut while the cars apart or if it wouldn't make a difference.

i have a 10inch sub and have run a few different set ups, the holes are there and sound is great so I doubt you will gain anything and finding anyone who has done a back to back comparison will be near impossible I would imagine

I have a 12" in the trunk and it is awesome. I mounted my box to the back of the seat panel using a low profile truck box. The jack just barely fits on its factory mount. IMG_20171125_083806902~3.jpg

You must leave some open space there or the HVAC system won't work properly. Almost all of the ventilation flows into the trunk and out the door pillar vents (unless a window is open of course). Good luck on your project!
